I wish that in the movies they had shown more of this friendship and Kurt.
This friendship speaks volumes of both of them. They’re equal opposites. They’re both social outcasts. Kurt, wherever he goes, unless he totally hides who he is, stands out in a crow and face total rejection, even between fellow mutants. Logan has his animal side standing out, he can kill with no problem, and that makes him face rejection, from homo sapiens and superior.
But they both developed differents ways to cope with it. While Kurt use his light-hearted spirit and faith, Wolverine closes himself to others. However, when they’re together, he has not problem in opening up to Nightcrawler, the ‘elf’ is one of those very few person who can reach to the deepests corner’s of Wolverine. They both can talk about anything, religion, killing, rejections. They share not only beers, but the way of laughing and having fun too.
The fact that Wolverine won’t hide his affection for Kurt speaks volumes of how deep their friendship is.
I just wish they showed more of it in the movies.
“Kurt was the only guy that ever looked me in the eyes like a man, and spoke to me like one, and treated me like one. No matter what I did or where I was or how I felt. He was my best friend and he never treated me like a damn animal.”
